My first entry to the Scavenger Hunt - April, 2004
1st Category: A Yellow Car

I ran into this by accident...
This is the Park&Ride parking lot of the underground station "Kiwittsmoor" where we park when going to work. I was happy to see this yellow car when I arrived. Unfortunately it was a rainy day, but who cares when it is about fulfilling your list for the scavenger hunt *ggg* (I also missed my train because of taking the picture... but they depart every 5 minutes so it was not that much of a pain ;-)

BTW Hamburg has a total workforce of 0.9 million of which 250,000 are commuters to the city. So this scene here is quite common as not everybody likes to stand in the usual traffic jams during the rush hours.

BTW a quiz: What kind of car is the yellow one ? Write your guess in your critique or comment I will solve it by sending a workshop on friday evening :) Happy guessing.

Good shot Ian, i think you had a rain drop on your lens ;-)
focus is good and contrast between yellow car and other cars in the background but i think more of the yellow car should be in the frame if it is the main subject.

What did the yellow car do? Did it misbehave? That's what it looks like in this photo. As though the other cars have punished it by making it sit away from them. Perhaps they were jealous of the bright color on this rainy day. It's very nicely photographed. I like the way it's not totally exposed so that it gives it that feel like I said. Shunned on the side. And it also adds a very nice touch of bright lively color on the rainy day to the rows of dull colored cars. As to what kind of car it is? Hmm... I might have to agree with nbournas about it being a SLK.

Good composition & cropping. The contrast between the one yellow car & the many predominantly grey cars is also nice.

It is a car that was already gone at least 2 different years in Austria... I would like to say a Mercedes too but with 2 windscreen wipers, it seems strange. so, I don't know what it is but I am looking formward your WS. nice framing of this one. Well done!
