Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken in Cospicua, more commonly known as Bormla by the Maltese. Bormla is the youngest of the Three Cities (Cospicua, Vittoriosa and Senglea). Its population is estimated to be circa 6500.
This city has now pretty much lost, its former glory and is reputed to be a socially depressed area by the Maltese. Practically no investment (not even in housing) has been made since the Second World War.
Regeneration projects have since 1998 been trying to revive the area.
