Photographers Note
Constructed through the end of eighteenth century, Ishak Pasa Palace stands on a high plateau at the East Anatolia -5 km to Dogubayazit and very close to Ararat Mountain. Its construction lasted for 99 years (1685-1784) and this palace with its 116 rooms on an area of 7600m2 in fact was a castle of an Ottoman Pasha with its tomb, mosque, ramparts, internal and external courtyards, divan and harem.
It's one of the most beautiful places (palaces) in the whole of Turkey which combines the architectural features of the Turks, the Seljuks and the Ottomans.
The domes of the mosque are similar to Turkistan domes. The palace itself reminds the Topkapi Palace and the doors of the palace are in Seljuks style. In fact, it is the second biggest Ottoman palace in Turkey, after Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.
Due to its proximity to the Russian and Persian borders of the Ottoman Empire at the time, Ishak Pasa Palace suffered serious damage during several wars, beginning with the Russian seige in 1828. The original pure gold door of the palace is now at Moscow Museum.

Hi Tidil,
I like your point of view and your composition for this shot. The detail on the dome is great and I like the pigeon which adds some nice extra interest.

Nice composition drawing attention to the detail of the dome. Are those branches above the dome? A different angle might crop them out.

This composition communicates both size and detail. It looks a hair off center which you could correct easily and which would probably support the image's strong geometric aesthetic. I think seeing what appear to be weeds growing on the dome adds interest to the shot.
