Photographer's Note
This shot was taken while on a skiing holiday in the French Alps at La Plagne. It was late afternoon in January on the last run of the day and I wondered how my new digital camera would cope with taking tricky shots into direct sunlight. This shot was the result and is exactly as taken (apart from a little cropping).
Just to the right of centre, there is a strange lighting effect which is actually the sunlight reflecting off the ice crystals in the valley air - something that can only be seen when looking down into the valley from this height.

Une jolie vu sur les montagnes , j'aime les formes de la neige et ce blanc un peu laiteux , les nuages dans le fond sont du plus bel effet .

une composition originale pour un spectaculaire panorama sur les alpes.

Your camera did well! Still a lot of detail on the foreground in spite of the sun! greta landscape. The clouds make the photo extra attractive. well done.

Very good....I like the flaring of the sunlight, the rugged scenery, the clouds rolling by....the serenity of the whole image.....v good....perhaps a tad underexposed, but easily correctable in PS.
Well done Jonathan

Interesting picture !
It seems that we could just go that way and, whe the mountains stops, continue on the clouds... I especially like the play between the soft and smoothy snow and the shadows.
I would just have prefered it with no skiing traces on the foreground...
