Photographer’s Note
Not too far from Duesseldorf and about 50 km north of
cologne you will find the wonderful moated castle Dyck.
In 1094 the first "castle" at that location was
mentioned and the now existing buildings were built between 1636-1663.
Parts of the castle were destroyed during
WWII and renovations took place in 1961.
Around the castle are old gardens from 1794 and some new and modern gardens created in 2004.

Hallo Thorsten!
...noch nie gehört, aber sehr sehenswert. Gut, dass es TE gibt - woher sollte man sonst Deutschland kennenlernen...!? ;-)
Wunderschön warmes Herbstlicht und herrliche Farben! Wirklich, ein Klassefoto!
Eine schöne Woche!
Grüße aus dem erstaunlich milden Siegerland!

Hi Thor,
Hope you had a good weekend.I think what stands out about this one is how well composed and framed it is.The greenery around the subject nicely compliments it, its placing is good and the ducks on the bank give it life. The reflection is very good...what a mirror!Keep well.
Regards, David

hey...this is a nice shot. the mirroring balances the photo and adds to the coloring, and i guess delimits here an oridnary tourist photography from art. you could sell this for some catalogue for instance. well done, alan.

Great composition (it's especially nice to see the first colors of fall in the background). The geese add a nice touch to it, making the picture look less "rigid."

A stately place, well photographed. I like the ducks in it, floating in the reflection.

Hi Thorsten,
What a very good photo! I like the reflections in the water and the ducks add a nice counterpoint. The colors are great and the image is very sharp. It looks as though the weather is still beautiful in Germany. Well done!
Regards, Jackie
P.S. I also appreciated your Note. It is very informative. Thanks!

Hi Thorsten, a really good reflexion there of this castle, you chose a classical angle and centered it in the frame, not very original but effective, i like it :)
I would have perhaps increased a little bit saturation but anyway it's a good shot :)

Hi Thorsten
it looks like a post card. Beautiful image.
Look, you centered your main object, and looks stunning!
the colors, the reflection of the castle in the water, the red flowers, so pretty, so charming, the ducks, the shadow on the left side. the balance and armonía in this photo is great!
Bis bald! Paula.
