Photographer’s Note
This is the Golden Houda which belongs to the royal family of Mysore (the Wodeyars).
The Golden Houda is carried on a particular elephant's back every year to mark the beginning of the Dussera Celebrations in Mysore. This Houda carries in itself, a special idol of Chamundeshwari Devi.
The Houda is made of 140Kgs of gold and the idol kept in it is also plated with around 40 Kgs pure gold
