Esta foto la saqué en el interior del Teatro Solís, en el centro de Montevideo. Si bien el nombre del teatro es en homenaje al navegante descubridor del Rio de la Plata, otro de los nombres originalmente propuestos fue el de Teatro del Sol, incluso a la entrada del teatro, puede verse un gran sol iluminando con sus rayos todo el lugar. Pensando en ese homenaje al sol, les traigo esta imagen, la cual es el centro del techo del teatro, y veo en esta compleja lámpara un verdadero sol que ilumina las artes que se expresan sobre el escenario.

La inauguración oficial del Teatro Solís fue el 25 de agosto de 1856, en presencia del presidente Gabriel Antonio Pereira, con la representación de la ópera "Ernani" de Verdi.
