Photographer’s Note
thought id try my hand at B&W...this picture seems so far away from the sunny day it was taken....almost from another world...the foam from the waves makes for a intresting photo ....taken in daytona beach fla ...from the main st pier....so i also tried a new take on the POV ...hope you like...and feel free to leave comments...

Hey Kevin.
I saw you had a good amount of people look at this shot, yet nobody commented...I'd like to give you some feedback.
I'm not sure how you converted this shot, but it's not showing up B&W here. Some odd purples and blues. It kinda looks like a infared shot with some creative coloring thrown in...it just seems a little confusing I guess. Also, there is a heavy tilt up to the right. This tilt throws the viewers off and takes away from the content of the shot. Now if there was a strong vertical int he foreground, like if you were on a sailing boat, the slant would work better...it's a little too much here.
Now, the texture of the water is awesome and the "s" line of the foreground wave is a nice lead in to the shot. It's hard to judge the lighting with this shot seeing how it seems to be displayed in the negative form, there does seem to be good contrasts. Maybe post a workshop of the original and see how that is.
Hope any of this helps, or you can tell me to go blow off if I'm being too longwinded.
Regards,
Chris.
Just so you know, I don't think of the smileys as ratings, I think it can be abused in that respect. I use them when I comment on a shot, whether it's great or not. I enjoy the communication between me and others that enjoy the same hobby I do, that deserves a smile. I generally will let people know what I think of a shot in the content of my comments.
