Good strong eye contact and a moody image. Using the wide end of your zoom has created quite a bit of distortion in the face, and the result isn't that flattering. Usually setting the lens to telephoto creates a more flattering portrait. Still, it isn't always necessary to show our subjects at their best, and this is a strong (if unflattering) portait.
One more point; the small patch of white in the top left corner is a little distracting and would be best removed.
Cheers,
Ben

Amazingly expressive!
You also have such an "eye" to catch these details and turning them into greta photos.
As himself wrote, ben4321's comments on the use wide angle lenses aren't relevant here, but it is right about the white spot on the upper left corner.
The blurr on the lower half reinforces the importance of the eyes and help distracting us from the imperfections on the skin.
Very well, as usual, Latifah.

You successfully captured the beauty of the girl with her pretty eyes. In this moment of taking photo you built a friendship.
Congratulations!
