" Roodkhan fort " is the biggest ancient brick and stone castle in Iran. It is located 25 km southwest of Fooman city in north of Iran.

Archaeologists learned that the castle had two sections : one administrative and the other military, which housed a garrison. People used to live in the military compartment, equipped with utility services. Experts believe it dates back to Saljuq era (1040-1220).
The castle is built on two tips of a mount, with an area of five hectares. Its architects has benefited from natural mountainous features in the construction of the fort. The castle's 42 towers still stand intact.

After crossing a mountainous winding route and passing dense and very beautiful jungles, the first thing that the traveler discovers is the castle's big entrance gate which is grand and huge.

Hi Atoosa,

Welcome to TE, Very nice and informative shot of the region. Very good POV and timing for this shot. Very good start.

The fog makes the picture - great shot.

Hello Atousa,

Good shot with an educative note. Although not much of the fort can be seen I think the green and the mist are attractive elements.

Reading through your note it seems that this is a huge building. Obviously your camera isn't able to get it all in one shot, specially with this more or less thick fog ;-)
It's nice to see how the path leads up the mountain and get to the huge entrance gate. You managed the difficult light conditions quite well.
TFS, Peter

so beautiful shot

hi Atousa,
a very romantic picture indeed!

Hi Atousa

I love the evocative interaction of the glowing bright fog with the ancient walls .. the vibrant greens are wonderful .. This image illustrates one of my favorite things about Trek Earth .. seeing a new place .. a vibrant green place from a country my middle American eyes associate with destert ..

thank you so much for sharing it.

take care,

John

This is an extremely nice misty landscape. The castle on the background looks like a ghost place and the person walking the track is its owner. I like the POV and the colours. Well done.
Antonio

Hi Atousa:

Beautiful shot here. Normally I'd say f/2.8 wouldn't be the best choice for a scene like this, as you'd want a smaller aperture to give you a greater DOF, but in this case with the fog, it makes everything seem even softer and mistier. Definitely the right choice. Thanks for sharing.

Selam Atousa. An evocative scene with the ghostly fort up on the hill. Excellent DoF and details. Nice, mysterious light. Regards. Klaudio.

Merhaba Atousa,
Wonderful composition! Very good POV, colours and nice mystical atmosphere. I like it.
Nice work!

Hello Atousa! Very well crafted shot here. I like how the castle appears to be brooding the fog. The placement of the trail leading to the castle is perfect. The mood of the image is fantastic!

Hi Atousa!
This is a great composition! It really seems a misterious place, that castle among the trees and with all this fog.A very good work!
Regards, Anabela

Salam Atousa, I had missed that photo, and saw it in your "randoms" : there is quite an atmosphere here, and that fort looks very impressive, specially with that light !
A beautiful photo, rather unusual for Iran...
Tabrik migam, best regards,
Cath.

Salam Atousa,
I go back to your first!
Weather didn't help you here, but the fog creates an interesting atmosphere... The casstle looks a nice place to visit and i like the framing and POV... contrast could have been boosted a little bit, but no big problem!
Laurent

Salam Atousa,
You show a mysterious castle in the fog with interesting light coming through. Good depth & contrast & well framed by the foreground tree & slope. I like the path in the middle with people walking towards the castle. Good POV.

Warm Regards,
Latiff

Salam Atousa,

A very nice and original shot, you have captured the mood so well with excellent clarity. TFS
