Day X - 8:34 am

Labrang Monastry is surrounded by a kinf of a 3 km wall. On this wall, you find prayer wheels (they are supposed to be 1174 !). And all the day, people walk around the monastry and turn the wheels. An amazing and fascinating experience, full of energy, of faith, of devotion...

And while turning, all the wheels squeak.

This was the songs of the wheels, all over the monastry, all day long... A captivating music I will never forget.

In french, "prayer wheel" is "moulin à prieres". If you translate this litterally, it means "pray mills". I prefer that ! More poetic...

Wonderful work with a fascinating depth and perpsective. The details could be seen clearly. A good documentary of the 'praying mills' and the (Tibetan? I guess...) monastry. Thanks for sharing.

Trés jolie perpective de cette galerie pleine de prières mécaniques. La vue longue et étroite contribbue à tirer le regard vers l'arrière-plan montagneux d'un bon effet. On a effectivement le sentiment d'un long mur. Un peut reproche, le fait que les moulins à prière sont un peu occultés dans l'image...

effectivement ce doit être impressionnant d'entendre cette "musique" toute la journée. J'aime bien la perspective que tu as su rendre dans cette photo. On ne voit pas le bout de ce mur ce qui nous laisse imaginer l'immensité de l'endroit. Très belle lumière qui vient mettre en relief les piliers.

Tres jolie perspective, en version large superbe. Pffff 3 kms, ca doit faire un sacre paquet de moulins et a lire ta note on imagine le bruit. Ca se sent pas trop sur cette photo mais a voir le WS on voit que le lieu est tres frequente. A regarder le ciel, j'ai aussi l'impression que tu as pris de l'altitude ?

J'ai vu beaucoup de moulins a prieres dans mes voyages, mais la ils semblent avoir etabli un record. 3 km... Une ame saine dans un corps sain assuree pour ceux qui fonr le tour une fois par jour. Belle perspective.

Un très bel angle de vue pour nous faire partager ce haut lieu de prière qui se prolonge par ce massif montagneux.
En effet il ne manque plus que le chant des moulins à prières.

J'aime bien cette perspective sur ce batiment rempli de moulin à prière !
Tu as choisi une belle ligne directrice, ce qui donne beaucoup de force à ta photographie. Il est également bien vu d'avoir intégré des personnes qui donnent de la vie à l'image !

The perspective on this shot is fantastic; the building seems to go on forever. The mountain in the background does an excellent job to fill in the space. Very interesting note about the prayer wheels/mills. I understand they have to be turned counter-clockwise. Do you know if that is correct and why?

C'est interminable cette perspective. Cela donne une bonne idée de l'importance de la dévotion de ces gens.

Enfin du ciel Bleu.
Un bon cadrage et une bonne perspective donnent un bon impact à cette composition.
Une photo qui mérite d'avoir une version large.
Il est fort dommage qu'on soit limité pour la publication des panoramiques à 5 Mo

C'est rare, Stéphane, un mur de cette longueur et ça donne une perspective extraordinaire que tu as bien su intégrer dans ta photo. Tu avais des conditions de lumière difficiles à gérer et tu t'en es bien tiré. Merci pour cette image d'un pays si lointain

on voit qu'ils ont de la place, tout se construit en un seul niveau très étendu au sol.
Une belle perspective qui rend ce bâtiment bien plus imposant encore.
Excellente occasion de réaliser un pano, que tu n'as pas ratée.

Ca c'est de la perspective !
je lis à l'envers ton portfolio, hier c'était les hieroglyphes, une prise à plat aujourd'hui c'est une perspective toujours avec les moulins à prière, vu l'espace de cette coursive, on peut imaaginer un gamin facétieux qui passe devant les moulins en courrant et les fait tous tourner en avançant :-))

J'aime explorer les photos postées il y a quelques temps, celle-ci me paraît évidente, ayant passé 2 fois par là et chaque fois étonnée par la longueur de ces galeries à moulins à prière - je crois entendre les grincements d'ici !
