Photographer’s Note
Update: "Larger Version" available here.
This panorama was created from 4 x 5-megapixel overlapping (rough-guess) shots using a mini tripod. They were stitched using The Panorama Factory (shareware) from Smoke City Design. It suffers a bit from scaling here and is forcibly cropped to fit the TrekEarth upload size restrictions; I have a wider-view 15" print on my wall, which has fantastic detail.
This scene shows the sun-baked environs of the Brandberg Plateaux a short distance from where our tents were pitched in the shadow of the massive. Can you feel the heat both on the back of your neck and radiating off the ground?

I like this shot! I'm not sure whether I'd have preferred more light on the rocks on the right though..
One small matter - it's Smoky City Design - thanks for mentioning it though, it seems to be the best stitcher I've come across so far :-D

Stunning panorama! Everything comes together really well in terms of the deep, warm colors, composition and scenic beauty to make this a stand-out.

The big version of this does indeed look stunning, Bruce. The texture and color of those rocks seems to be screaming "Heat!". The tones of orange and brown are amazing, and I like that green bush in the foreground that seems to stubbornly peek out of the ground. Great shot!

wow. it is winter in my country now, but this pic made me suddenly remember the songs of the grigs, enervating sun, cool rivers after a hard day..
Can't wait for the summer now :)
And technically, I like that symmetry of lines, different objects, but the same theme in both sides of the photo. Also, the frame (seen in the smaller version), which reminds me the movies, shown on TV :p , westerns in this case.

This is a wonderful panorama. The heat is almost tangible! The detail in the rocks and the vegetation on the enlarged version is quite something. Thanx for sharing!
