Photographer’s Note

Different approach of the first Naxos Blues.

While searching for "something typical" Naxos I pondered about the following; there is an infinite amount of elements that is hard if not impossible to capture. For instance, Naxos manners. I once read that Naxonians posses the most interesting ability to combine European major-city rudeness with the hospitality and kindness of old country values. How to capture such generalized conclusion, or how can one prove the opposite through a picture?
During my visit on Naxos I could not avoid noting that often I forget to seek these "typical" elements in ethical areas. Daily life sceneries and street photography are still areas in which I feel as an intruder, so I ended up shooting a blue panel blessed with patience, a rather easy catch ;-)

Though I do not prefer strong direct sunlight I turned the hard contrast shaped forms into an compositional play. After scanning and downsizing I found that the result had became too unsharp and I tried the Paintshop "clarify" tool that Norbert used in a previous workshop.

Still not really pleased, any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance!
