Photographer’s Note

This is a Land Iguana on South Plaza island in the Galapagos Islands. This was the first island we visited on a week trip and the iguanas got bigger and bigger on each island - they were like dogs on the last one and walked straight through our group without batting an eyelid. They are very colourful and interesting to watch and have a almost contemptful look as they blissfully ignore human presence. I have put daily life as a category as this kind of encounter is there every day on those magic islands.

Very nice portrait. Colourfull with perfect depth setting. I find the iguana very expressive (specially the eyes).

Nice shoots and colours. I really do like the dark background behind the upper part of the Iguana body. It highlights quite well the head colours: nice set up!.
