Beautiful job and deserve are my compliments. Compliments for the beautiful photo. From the preview it seemed me to see the profile of an African warrior:).
But your photo tells of other warriors...
And compliments for the choice to propose to the world your point of view.

Hi Talia, this is a good effort but not quite there. No problem with the exposure which is spot-on to throw the surfer into silhouette while retaining detail in the other elements of the composition. But the tilt in the horizon is distracting. You'll find a lot of images on TE where the photographer has deliberately tilted the camera and these images often work. But in photos of the sea, it is best to keep the horizon level (unless it is a VERY different image and you're feeling VERY brave!). Another improvement would have been to include all of the shadow of the surfer. A pity just to use part of it when the tone is so wonderfully deep. But, again, a nice try and I look forward to more! Hi Talia,
As others have mentioned the horizon is tilted..but I wish to put that aside.Its the content of the image that attracts me, being a veteran bodyboard surfer!!Many a time I have been in this position...contemplating my entry to the sea and possibly a dice with danger...attaching the board leash.Sadly I don't find time nowadays to rush down to the sea as the sun comes up....but I will be satisified briefly with this image..TFS and take care.

i really like the color and composition.
the silhouette surfer and the fascinating background were combined appropriately.
and i like that rotated angle,it makes this shot looked natural.great work.

Great photo! I like how you have the man with high contrast where the water is still alive if twinkles of light. The horrison looks a little bit funny but I don't think it effects much.
