Photographer’s Note
Crossing over to Burma from Ranong, Thailand, we had to take a long-tail and this strong little guy (no more than 8 or 9 years old) was helping out the driver at each of the docks we stopped at as we went through 'immigration' Burmese style.
I took this in black and white on my SLR and then scanned through and tried to adjust the tones. I haven't figured out how to do borders yet on my program here :) I had the lab process this to the edges of the neg so that explains the dark outline.
For some reason, I like this shot, but would be keen to hear from others as to what they think or how it could be improved.

it is a nice shot, but it could be easily better if you had taken this picture a bit fro the left side - then the man would be on the left side of the kid, not behind him and we coul see the face of the kid, that's it. B&W works well, but the light is too harsh and the kid's t-shirt is white... not bad, but couild be better, especially the composition

I really like this, the composition is tight and the fact that you can't see the boys face adds to the drama. The over exposure of the boys shirt is ok as it compensates for the shadow areas.
Nice shot
