Photographer’s Note
A sculpture by Deborah Halpern called Angel. It used to be located in front of the National Gallery of Victoria, but it was recently moved to the side of the Yarra River near Birrarung Marr park. Now I can look at it every day from my window at work. In the background is the Eureka building, the highest in Melbourne.
Scanned from a slide. Polariser used to bring out the blue of the sky and cut down reflections from the sculpture. I cropped some of the top and bottom of the photo.

Hi Vincent,
a very intersting sculpture in multicolour. I love the background filled with skyscrapers. Very nice perspective of this object and the sky has an amazing blue colour!

Hey Vincent,
Great capture. I like the way the sculpture towers over the skyscrapers. It certainly has a lot of attitude. Good note also.

Hello Vincent,
Great POV and good catch of light. Nice view from your daily work. The colours look a bit oversaturized which is due to the polarizer you have used. I wonder how it would look like without that filter. TFS Thomas

Very nice shot of Melbourne. This is something that I don’t know yet. The sculpture and the tower. The strong beautiful colours and the good composition make this picture very nice to look at. Well done.

Hello Vincent,
The subject is really original :) And the view is excellent. Your usage of the polariser filter is perfect.
Best regards, Laurent.

Another really beautiful scan. I don't know enough about the process to understand why some scans (like this one) turn out so well, and some others on TE so poorly. This is of extremely high quality, looks as if it rivals the image directly out of a digital.
It is a great subject you've chosen, vibrant and unusual. There is a lot of intriguing geometry in this shot, and a deep blue sky to bring out the colours of the sculpture.
Very nicely done - thanks for sharing this one!

Hi Vincent
You're a rarity still using slides !
Excellent point of view. I've never been to this part of town since it was created. I still remember taking the number 70 tram.
The new building really stands out well and does look taller than the Rialto. I wouldn't want to live in a flat up the top though. I like the artwork of the scupture. The branch on the right just needs a bit of trimming though.

Salut Vincent,
Tu as très bien mis en valeur cette sculpture. J'aime beaucoup l'assiociation verticale de celle-ci avec les buildings de l'arrière-plan.

Hi Vincent,
The other day I was walking along the river and I bumped into this bunch of photographers who were taking shots of this sculpture from wired angles and I mean 'wierd'. But I think I like this classical composition very much, primarily because it isnt pretentious and at the same time very well composed.
thanks for sharing
