Photographer’s Note

This is a photo I took at the magnificent Amber Fort, Rajastan, just 12 km outside Jaipur, the Pink city. A mother and her daughter were wandering around the walls, and at some point the housband and father shouted at them. The mother turned to look at him. Somehow, this scene, with the mother looking the other way and the daughter looking straight ahead, giving a slight push to her mother, looked to me like a "change of guard" or some kind of "relay race". Was it the right moment for the daughter to take the first "role"? Maybe yes, maybe no. Whatever happened, it happened with love, like the word written on the ancient wall.
