Photographer’s Note
As we were decending Narita Airport, I looked out the window and amusingly saw the plane's shadow on the rice field.
It was foggy due to continous rain during that period, so I adjusted levels to get rid of the blur. Unfortunately cannot do anything with the black spot at the lower right corner w/o cropping the foto. :(
Hope you enjoy the photo. :)

Hi Lilli,
this is a nice picture. I like the perspective of the shadow over the crop fields. Very nice colours. Good idea for a composition too :-)

Hi Lilli
You were so lucky to get a clear day where you could see the ground. I would have loved to have looked out of the plane and seen Japan roll underneath me, but on the flight into Japan I was in the middle aisle (so no window). On the way out of Japan, the weather came in and it was very cloudy and raining all over Japan in seemed. My last glimpse of Japan was a faint outline of shore somewhere over Hokkaido, staring through a gap in the cloud.
The colour is wonderful - so green! You managed to get a great top-down angle from the plane, and you perspective is very unusual and fascinating. This is the best photo from a plane I have seen on TrekEarth, I do believe.
Thanks for making the most of the opportunity, and for posting this on here. ^_^

Hi Lilli
Very interesting, it looks almost like a checkboard. I know how difficult it is to get such a good photo from a plane.
cheers

Lilli:
I think this is the best of your album so far. I added your photo into my 2 themes.
If you don't mind, I'd like to have a question: do you live near Banaue Rice Terraces?
I had a co-worker named Raul Buhay. We planned to have him be my guide for my visit to the Philippines. Then he abrupt passed away last October 2005, so I aborted my dream to lay my feet into the mud of this area.
If you have some pictures taken of this beautiful area, please share with us. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Thanh (09-25-2006)

Hi Lilli:
Today, we learned on the news that typhoon Xangsane struck the central Philippines, leaving nearly 2,500 ferry passengers stranded as gusts of up to 150 km (94 miles) per hour kept boats in harbour.
I pray that all Philippino TE members and everyone there be safe. God bless you.

Hi Lilli,
Interesting concept, liked the idea of the shadow of the plane on the fields, its gives a hanging, aerial feel to the viewer. Lovely patches of green with houses and roads giving perfect contrast.
Thanks for posting this in TE.
Regards,
Paromita
