Fish Seller - Eyes Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this with a film camera in 2002 and wish now I could return to the exotic country of Turkey with its handsome and charming people carrying a good digital camera along with a lot more knowledge of photography than I had then or now. I would welcome any suggestions for a light-weight, not too expensive digital camera.

I loved the look of this fish seller and his fish in a night market on a small street of the old part of the city.

I had to scan this but hope you can still enjoy it. Any feedback from you will be very welcomed!

Understand greatly where you are coming from about photography. Likewise for me, still learning.
Just wondering if this fish seller is selling it at a market place or some makeshift tentage?

Most of my pictures are also with a film camera, just a point and shoot camera. Only 2 years ago I started with a 2 MP digital camera and have just upgraded to a 3 MP. In the meantime I have immproved a lot. Hope you get your digital camera soon and you get to travel arround more.

You have an honest portrait here - it is simple and straight on and that is what gives it a classic feel. I plan to visit Istanbul in the coming winter. What month did you take this picture?

I love the composition - subject in black in the foreground with a strong red supporting background.
