Nice view of this Romanesque chancel, Philippe. I admire the round shape of the building so characteristic of this genre, but I think there is already some Gothic influence in the shape of the windows and in the small turrets. Very good light and your shooting angle underlines the grandeur of the old church.

Belle prise de vue et belle architecture.Le ciel bleu qui l'accompagne m'attire car après celui d'Espagne, je viens de retrouver le ciel fort gris de ma Belgique et en plus je reprend le boulot lundi.....donc tu vois tout va bien.....!

Bonjour, mon ami Philippe,
belle architecture, cette partie intacte du temple avec une abside curieuse avec deux étages de baies vitrées, tu l'as parfaitement recueillie dans un bon cadrage. La gestion de l'exposition est très bonne, l'image nous offre de grands détails de la texture de ces vieilles pierres, avec une bonne illumination et des ombres jolies.
En choisissant le point de vue de vers le bas en haut tu donnes une grande emphase au bâtiment, qui est élégantement souligné sur le beau ciel bleu.
Tu fais un travail de divulgation de la beauté architectonique de ton pays réellement honorable.

Good lighting in this one, Philippe, and a remarkable amount of textural richness and detail found in the stonework of the old church. The façade details look crisp without appearing oversharpened, and the neat blue sky provides a pleasant contrasting topping for the edifice.

J'ai randonné souvent dans cette région et j'avais remarqué la beauté de cet édifice. Mais le temps n'était pas propice aux photos et à pied le poids du matériel joue un rôle non négligeable. Ceci dit, c'est une excellente photo avec un cadrage qui met bien en valeur l'originalité de cette construction.

Even before reading your note, I was just wondering about how the interior would look, with the sun beams coming through those windows.

The construction is impossing and I like very much the way in which you present it to us. The light and sharpness are superb, and one can enjoy so many details.

The clarity of detail on this magnificent church is astounding. There is great depth in the shot, with the windows nicely inset within the columns. You show us this castle like church from a very interesting POV. The semicircular apse gives an extra dimension to the size, I feel, which together with the double decker windows & strong columns between them provide a strong sense of symmetry. I am curious about the small turrets & the small square windows on the side wall..beautiful majestic structure against the blue sky

Hello,

Tu as bien su retranscrire le coté massif de cette église. Sous cet angle, il est difficile de croire qu'elle est en ruine ! Ces contreforts sont impressionants.
On peut deviner que les batisseurs de ce monuments étaient dans une phase expérimentale à cette époque. Ils cherchaient à ouvrir les murs avec de grandes baies vitrées amenant beaucoup de lumière mais il fallait tout de même contenir les forces qui s'exerçaient sur les parois. Ils devaient donc décrouvrir les secrets pour renvoyer les poussées des masses vers le sol !!
