Photographer’s Note

A very hot and drippy evening. The intermittent rain showers had left a sheen of moisture on the pavements. I had to allow my camera to temper before shooting because the residual chill of my nearby hotel room made my lenses (and film?) fog when they hit outside air. Hua Hai Lu is a major shopping street in Shanghai and a great place for people-watching. But the crowded sidewalks make tripod placement difficult.

welcome on TE with your first image from Shanghai. I like this kind of night shots. The illumination of the scenery is really nice. I think I can smell the rain in the heat if I look longer.
The lady on the left with the certain motion blur is great.

I allways find it hard to take decent street shots, they allways seem too cramped to me, but this one is very nice.

That's a very fine mix of sharp elements and movement blur and the colors are well variated and balanced to enhance this nightshot atmosphere in the middle of the city, welcome to TE.
