Photographer’s Note

Nestled in the Western Himalayas, the State of Himachal Pradesh offers unlimited opportunities to one and all to enjoy nature in its most pristine state. The very mention of the State instantly evokes images of the mighty Himalayas with lofty snow-capped peaks, meandering rivers, perennial springs, vast streaches of alpine measows and lush green forests known to harbour a variety of plants and animals.

This extraordinary view is from Chail's King's Palace facing the west, shot on my last trip to increadible India last month.

A small amount of PP was done in order to change the shadows/highlights.

excellent picture.
I like very much the lightning in layers from the dark bottom over the dark and light blue in the middle to the light red and grey of the sky. The combination of colors are somehow surreal.

You have not only been a witness to a heavenly scene but have managed to capture it for eternity. Thanks for sharing this magical moment from the Himalayas. Wonderful layers of colours and the clouds in the lower valleys has created a special mood. This will for sure go to my favourites.

This is really superb Panos.
I love how the misty conditions have resulted in the hills appearing as a series of layers receding into the distance. I think the technical term for this is aerial perspective.
Whatever it's called, you've produced a wonderful image here.
