Photographer’s Note

On Lofoten, during a Fjord Tour, the boat stopped because eagles approched the boat, knowing that they will get some fish from the crew.
So two beautiful and huge birds came really near (maybe less than 10m) and I managed to take some nice shots.
This shot was just a second before one of the eagles grabbed a fish that the crew threw into the water.

BTW, although it looks like the weather was really bad, actually it was a nice day with mostly sunshine.
It's just some clouds hanging in the peaks, but anyway I like the dramatic effect that they create.

Tech:
taken in RAW, increased contrast (a lot) and brightness to increase the dramatic effect, sharpened, all with DPP, then cropped and resized.

Hello Goran,
Very impressive picture. I like very much the contrast of focus between the bird and mountains. You got it at the right time , in the right position.
Really a great job.
Perhaps you should have posted the original in WS in order we can appreciate your PP.

Your shot is so dramatic.. astonishing.. the eagle in action, rocky mountian in the background very accurate regarding the scene.. Congratulations!

Great dynamic capture, with the motion frozen admirably. I am impressed with the excellent exposure of the bird, despite the bright background. The subject also deserves some credit.

Great shot Goran!

I must admit, from the thumbnail- I had no idea what this figure was. The eagles you have in Norway differ slightly from the bald eagles we have in Canada.
Regardsless- just as impressive to see.
