[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This fountain stands beneath the dam at the Silent Valley Resevoir. It is found right in the centre of the valley and doesn't seem to get much attention from tourists due to its insignificant stance in front of such a huge wall of the dam.

Hi Elizabeth, I like many things in your photo. The reflection of the clouds in the fountain is great as well as the lightened slope on the upper right side. The addition of the fountain edge in the front is good idea too. However there is a few things, that could have been made better. The sky seems to be too post-processed, it doesn't look nice. Changing the position of fountain centre could gain more effect in my opinion - I would situate it in the horizontal centre and upwards. I tried to make workshop, hope you will like it.

Perhaps that was the intention, to have this humble small fountain by something that is so large and potentially violently powerful. There's a beautiful play with the lines here. All the curves this way and that of the land, the circle of the fountain and the colors reflected in it give the entire image a soft watery feel. Everything here seems like a fluid that has been contorted and is continuing to swirl and change. The contrasts between dark and light play to that as well. Sort of up and down and this way and that. And I think the centrality of the fountain in this shot plays with all the curving lines perfectly. It has the feel of circling around and then circling again around me as a viewer, continuing all those soft lines beyond the frame. But all the lines lead right back to the small jet of water in the center, giving it the feel as the place where all this is being born.

It's a very refreshing picture, Beth
You've got a finest details of a little fountain sprinkle and small ripples that didn't disturb the blue sky reflection. Nice different shades of green hills too.
Really refreshing,

Hi Elizabeth!
Intersting shot. The skyis overexposed, but it revived in the reflexion. Fine, modest composition. Like that.
Seb
