Really what a pitty for these kids.
Very good seen and done.

Hi Skye,
The world is also made up from very small downtrodden worlds. When you cannot look up anymore, what you know best of the world is what is ignored, what litters the ground, what snakes out of heavens... And that kid amongst millions is the one whose right to see the world as we try to share it here is the most justified.
Thanks, you show the path less traveled by

very nice simple composition. I wish you had gotten more of the stairs though (I see the kid in the lower right of a horizontal 3:2 image with the diagonal of the steps ascending--even better with some feet and legs going up the stairs). I'm also not so sure about the square vignetting.

As it is it's still a nice image.

Cheers,

af

Hello Skye.
It is a shame to see such a scene. The choice of B&W was a wise one with this photo. Good sharpness and play between light and shadows.

:) out today, be back.

Hello Skye
Just back from africa...
Very dramatic shot,
the vigneting helps to make the scene even more dramatic,
well done

Wonderful photo!

But let me ask you Skye 2 questions: did you go straight to the Philippines for a visit or a stop-by on your way to somewhere? Was your flight direct from LAX to MNL or transit via HKG or SGN?
I am thinking of a trek to Banaue Rice Terraces but the airticket from Saigon is always above my reach.

Cheers!

A sad image, Skye, but a good piece of photo-journalism. As you say in your note, he is just one of millions, not just in this part of the world, but in many developed countries too. Good choice of B&W, but I think I would have gone for a conventional 3:2 landscape format, rather than the semi-panoramic that you have used, because I can't quite see the point of leaving all that empty space on the right. Cheers . . . David

One of the most effective shot in B&W Skye. Without showing anything you have conveyed the maximum. This is arts , this is photography and a good shot in the series of photojournalism.

Hello Skye
It is a great shot. I have to tell that this is the majority of our world..!
Congratulation...
