The old priest, Luang Phu Surirat, who is at the origin of this park, died a few years ago, and now his son has come back from Los Angeles to tend to the business of welcoming (and charging) visitors, while keeping up the unique legacy of his father, who was not an orthodox Buddhist, but more like a Bhramin type figure. He also established a monastery of the same type, with less well kept grounds, near Vientiane in laos.
