Kite-surfing on Lake Garda Photo

Photographer’s Note

Kite-Surfing on Lake garda (Lago Benaco) near Campione. Caused by its geographic position there are special winds on the lake which appear on certain times of the day. Those times are strongly awaited by many surfing people. You reach this point by using the western coast road of th lake which is famous for its many tunnels, even the branch from this road to Campione is in the tunnel.

Very good capture of wind and motion! I also like the composition, showing how small the people are in comparison to the mountain...

Great shot! a sharp image of the kites and surfers against a foggy background, as if the sharp edges of the kites were cutting into fog. Very well done, we can see the action details of even the smallest surfers.

Dear Werner, welcome to TE :) Great first entry. I would crop a little of the bottom and try to increase colours. The sun was giving you a hard time on the kites. Still good work :) Yours, Jan

The light wind sails on the darker background of the mountain is a nice graphic touch.

Thank you Werner for the suggestion. Yes, it looks much better now after the cropping.
Its good we have Trekearth.Now, we can see geographic pictures of other countries instead of just reading them. Seeing picture is a thousand time better to understand than just reading.

Your angle, with the mountain in the background, almost looming over, gave this image a "ominous" impression. Honestly, if I was there with you, I would take the same angle as you.

very lively picture Werner...very sharp with lovely depth..loved the kites in front of the mountain..I have passed by Garda in winter, could not have imagined its summer like this..thanks :)
