Photographer’s Note
Fishing has been one of the oldest professions since civilization. It is not just an amateur sport but also a means of living, here in the riverside small villages. Locally known as Mayajal, this unique mechanism of fishing has been adopted since generations to ensure a good catch. This photograph captures the typical Bengali fishing style on the Ichamati River.
