beautiful northland Photo

Photographer’s Note

this one is taken in Northland, near omapere and opononi. I have posted some images before from this amazing viewpoint looking the other way across the Tasman.
But this one was quite smooth also, and subtle colors and light. Nothing spectacular, but in NZ it doesn not need to be spectacular to be beautiful.

played some with gradient tool in photoshop to bring out some more detail in the clouds. hope you enjoy it.

You are right about the place being beautiful.
The cloud cover adds to the mood created by the low light.
Good colors and contrast.
One of my friend is going in NZ for a 2.5 months vacation,I envy him.

The colours are excellent here - the grasses in the foreground look good bathed in that soft evening light. The composition is good too with the highest part of the hill off towards the left side of the frame.

Hi Arnoud. Beautiful countryside bathed in beautiful light. Add in a moody sky, a few people for scale and a human connection, a nice windy little path for depth and you end up with a lovely shot. Well seen and taken Arnoud!

Great lighting and probably great processing too! The colour of the grass is very vivid and lush, and the sky works very well too. In fact, there is a good contrast between the pastel of the sky and the intense colours on the ground. Excellent work!
