Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken on the way from Pheriche (4200m) to Lobuche on the Everest Base Camp Trek. It shows the daily life of the Sherpas, who inhabit this region. It also displays the life of Yaks, maybe the most abused animals ever. Ensuring transportation, fur, wool, milk, meat, bones, fuel (dried dung), they get nothing in return, for they have to look for food themselves, mostly dry, thorny plants and small bushes.
Besides, how many Yaks do you see? 'cos I see 3 ;-)

yes i see him just behind the front yak the tip of his horn gives him away ,its a shame these beasts have such a life ,this is a great view ,it shows how barren it is there, the views must be amazing with all those mountains streched out all around .

I think you missed your focus a little here, cos with 1/160s and f/11 you should have been able to get it a bit sharper. That said, I like your composition very much. I would have liked it better if the sherpa had been looking at you too.

Hey Piotr,
Thanks for this Shot. I love it as well as I find your note very interesting. Life for animal is even tougher than the local environment requires from the people to fight for their daily life. The more I travel, the deeper is my feeling that it won't change soon, right? But we have to keep going, we, who have the unfair chance to travelling around the world have the duty to report what we see, like sharing it on TE and elsewhere...and keep hoping for a better world. Nice shot, Tibo
