Photographer’s Note

Each year, at the beginning of October, the esplanade of Helsinki becomes the seat of the picturesque Herrings fair. Many fishermen from all Finland (and even from Sweden!) are sailing until there in order to presenting and selling their products on the market place of Helsinki. The Herrings fair is thus the occasion to taste good fish but also to observe beautiful ships in the old port of the city.

I like the contrast between old & modern styles here - the old ship & the close up on it's detail compared to the modern car ferry in the background. Nice to see the old ship in the city. Your composition works well!
