Cascade Park, in the Waitakere hills, 50 minutes from Auckland city. Amidst the giant Kauri trees (the few remaining in this area) a track-off-a-track leads to this discreet waterfall.

Handheld - somehow I managed to avoid camera-shake!

Hi Rew,
You found paradise on earth !
TFS

Hello Rew

Mice idea with the good motion in the waterfall, infact it is very good for a handheld.
Composition is ok, I think that a more focused view on the waterfall would do.
Slightly overexposed colours but it is such a little amount that it doesn't affect anything.
Thank you for sharing.

Nice shot Rew. Certainly looks like a lovely spot. You managed to avoid camera shake well and the plain black frame works well also. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Rew,

Very well composed.
Best regards.

Hi Rew, Good to see the NZ bush like this. The ferns hanging from the slope near the water is very good to see. Clarity and colours are both excellent. Murray.

Good morning Rew -

A good job for hand held. I think more emphasis on the waterfall would help this image. Try cropping 1/3rd of the top portion and see what it looks like.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Rew
nice picture, I like the waterfall coming from darkness, good thing that you avoided camera shake, i usually cant, the vertical format works well
good job

Even though the theme is rather over-used, the use of slow shutter speed has been very successful here.

Hi Rew, steady hands there! i always loved the look of water seeming like frost or fog.

rew,
excellent exposure and dof even though this was a handheld shot. just the right amount of light exposes the details nicely. good contrast and saturation.

Hi Rew,
How nice of you to share this hidden gem with us. The gush of siken water falling into the the turqoise pool is lovely. I think you kept the upper part of the photo to show the foliage, is that a Kauri tree?
Regards, Pat
