Photographer’s Note
This is the church of St. Demetrius of Solun' in the village of Yakovlevo near Sergiev Posad. It was built in 1879 by the local landlady Ekaterina Barbasheva and along with the hospital, school and hospice dedicated to the memory of her late husband and son. In Soviet time the church hosted an orphanage, a hospital and even a small dairy. Now it is at the early stages of reconstruction.
