Castle Party is one of the largest "dark independent music" festivals in Europe, held annually in since 1994. One notable thing is unusual setting - the castle courtyard (Grodziec castle for the first 3 years, then larger Bolkow castle). See http://www.castleparty.com/ for more information.

This year, I've been there for the first time. I enjoyed the music (although I'm not much into gothic rock and frankly I'd never heard about any of the bands before), but the spectators were even more interesting: hundreds of people in black leather, Victiorian-style dresses and pale make-up. The goths - especially girls in the most elaborate costumes - were very eager to pose for a picture (obviously, after they spent months working on their attires, they wanted everyone to see it). Soon, my memory card was full.
