Potosi was the richest town in the world during some decades in 17th century, it was one of the biggest ones too. There was a giant mine of silver inside a big mountain, at side of the town (El Cerro rico de Potosi), People says all that silver could have build a bridge from Bolivia to Spain. Nowadays we can find a little of these golden age in its streets, palaces, buildings and churches. El Cerro rico is there, at side of the town, miners are looking for other metals, not silver. This church we see is decorated in a especie of bolivian plateresco style, we can see indian elements like the sun and the moon in the decoration. Potosi is very hight town, around 4,000 meters above sea level, it is cold and dry and we don't see so much trees on it. There are some fabulous museuns in this town too.

Hallo Jorge!
You show us an interesting and outstanding artwork. The picture shows a lot of details. But we should not forget the many, many women, men and children, who were forced to work here for a starvation wage and who died in this mines. One of the greatest tragedies of mankind. thank you for showing this!
Greetings from Germany!
Frank

Ola Jorge,

Flavia
