Photographer’s Note

These terraces were a farming arcology built by the ancient Incans. These terraces actually created multiple micro climates capable of growing corn, lintels, gourds, lucumas, quinoa, and passion fruit all in the same farm. The different levels not only had widely different humidity levels, but also varied in temperature up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This goes to show that, in numerous ways, the native people of the Andes were more technologically advanced than the Europeans that conquered them.

This image was sharpened, curve, and slightly contrast adjusted.

An interesting picture. One can again and again only be astonished at the achievements of the Inkas and the connection between agrarian culture and holy one. The photo showed the structures of the landscape very well. Even the shade, which affects the center of the plant, has here its sense. A very beautiful and well photographed picture. Great capture. Very nice POV and very intresting note too. The shadow over a part of the place gives a different athmosphere.
