Photographer’s Note
While not Crimea's tallest mountain (that would be Roman Kosh, which stands at 1,545m), Ai-Petri provides a most impressive view over Yalta. It towers a little over 1,200m over the resort town and its summit is easily accessible by a cable car and a short hike.
On the day of my visit, fast-moving, dark clouds threatened sporadic rain. It never opened up, but the cloudscapes were magnificent. In this view, you are looking northeast, or up the coast past Yalta. The couple at left are enjoying one of the most spectacular views in Crimea.
