Photographer’s Note
Another angle of an earliear image. A begger panning the streets of Ensenada, she was a NAhua mother with child, I simply melted at the expression on that kid's eyes... Hope & love, all in simple life of everyday misery. Sad but true...

Excellent portrait. Choice of B/W is perfect. The girl's eyes are really very expressive. I think a little bit more side view would have given us more opportunity to see the face of the innocent girl more clearly. TFS.

Hi Radu
A very impressive photo.

Hello Radu,
a beautiful portrait of relationship between mother and child. You can really see that the mother is caring for her little daughter. Something that is very interesting on this picture: it seems like the mother is looking back to her daughter. It could also be that the mother is looking back to the flag. The expression of the mother seems to be afraid...So the misery of her life could be an effect of policy?...
An intimate portrait of motherly love. There is also a message about life and political situation in South-/Middle-America on that portrait...
Well done! Black and White apply to this picture. And the composition is great.

Bonjour Radu,
Un beau double portrait, bien cadré et bien traité en N&B. On aimerait avoir les conditions de prise de vue. En tout cas, BRAVO

Hi Radu, the thumbnail really stands out so had to explore it further and glad I did. Very striking image of the despair and pain in this situation, with the B&W treatment aiding this tremendously. Drapped in that cloth, the girl looks so much smaller, making her deeply expressive eyes look all that much bigger.

Your photo reminds me the photo-book "NORTH VIETNAM" by Marc Ribout. Although his photos and your photo are captured half of the world away, the human faces contain same impression.
Congratulations!

Great capture of the bond between a mother and daughter. Children and parents are so intricately woven together with more than just DNA. Their looks are wonderful. I might recommend positioning the two more the left of the frame so they aren't smack in the middle. It’s great anyways. Good work.

It's a very very good capture. The flag (what country is that, not Mexico of course) adds interesting contrast to the human elements.
Photo could use a bit of sharpening but otherwise very very good, as I said at the beginning!!

Very interesting and expressive portrait, so spontaneous, so touching. It is impossible to see that kid's eyes and not to be deeply moved. Good composition, too .
