Photographer’s Note

Now closer to the sun,but not the closest.
This title belong to the colorful deltaplane,
Who like a butterfly,spread their wings,
and fly from one mountain to the other,
back and forth,without fatigue.
For our eyes,envying them their freedom,
from the Puy-de-Dome to the Puy-Pariou and up to the Puy-des-Goules.
Life is beautiful.

A cookin P121 grad grey G2 was also used.

Tel un papillon qui déploit ses ailes
et nous donne le spectacle de ses couleurs,
En toute liberté,
il voltige d'une montagne à l'autre,
du Puy-de-Dome au Puy Pariou puis le Puy-des-Goules
comme nous aimerions l'imiter,
s'approcher du soleil avec autant d'aisance.
et admirer ce fabuleux paysage de sa hauteur.
la vie est magnifique.

Very pleasing to look at!

I like the gradual darkening of the sky into the deep blue at the top of the image. The close focus on the nearby grass adds great perspective and lifts the picture nicely. You get a great feeling of space in this scene - well done.

Charles - what a spectacular position to view the countryside! I like how youve framed this one, although i wonder if you could have cropped away that bit of dirt path on the left at all? Otherwise a great post,

Belle collecte d'images du Massif Central. Tes photos sont "grandes", parfaitement cadrées et elles me font aussi rêver (Je suis en plein rêve en ce moment ;o))
J'ai bien apprécié les coquelicots des deux précédentes.

Voila une magnifique Image, l'auvergne semble etre une region tres envoutante. magnifique utilisation des filtre; cela ne se voit pratiquement pas.

Une belle image de ce paysage aux belles couleurs. Le parachutiste est bien capturé et bien positionné dans le cadre. Sa parachute contraste bien avec le ciel bleu. Du bon travail.

France a very lovely country, we can see the fantastic panorama view, with small details in the mountains, the deltaplane this is wonderful sport, my neighbour is also a great airman with deltaplane, you did very nice.

Hi Charles,
Your title well represents the mood of the shot. I like this POV, as one has the feeling of soaring with the fellow and there is a real sense of depth. The foreground proportion is well chosen and the rich grass enhances. I am wondering if that is cloud or pollution in the distance? We often get a haze such as that in mid-summer, but not normally in such a rural or mountain area as this. A very fine capture, and good use of that filter.

Wonderful framing here. The composition is first class. The strength of the light is probably a little bit stronger than I would be comfortable working with but the details and colours are all nicely rendered. The balloon is a great added feature which provides good scale to the shot. Nice one.

Sorry for the long absense in visiting your gallery. Yes, I had an AWESOME time back in Canada. I'd love to be back there full time... nothing like it. Truly gods country! Excellent POV for this one Charles, and the colors are rich yet not unnatural.

Il doit bien y avoir une chanson de ce genre, "born to be free or alive" :-)), pour moi cette photo est parfaite et convient magnifiquement à ce sport de plein air, les espace sont bien construits et le parapente est bien suspendu.

You had an excellent POV for this as the parascender doesn't seem that much higher than you were. You got very good depth by including the foreground.

Beautiful photo, Charles - a great sense of freedom and open space conveyed by the framing with the paraglider hovering above the lovely scenery. A pleasant color palette and a good effect with the slightly hazy setting that makes the gently undulating landscape gradually fade away towards the background. Nice work.

Hello Charles,

you have so many fine images of Canada that I forget about your French shots. This one appeals to me for the sense of freedom it brings; one person (maybe two?) looking down on the world without a care. Your pov is perfect and the parachute well placed in the frame and the canopy contrasts well against the blue sky. A fine capture my friend.

Bonjour Charles, et merci pour les précisions que tu m'as donné sur ma photo du puy de dome. J'avais regardé les tiennes sur TE avant de me rendre dans ce lieu et franchement les tiennes sont superbes !
Celle ci est vraiment magnifique, le bleu du ciel est trop trop beau, en plus la clarté du temps permet de distinguer très loin dans la vallée ... le premier plan vert fleuri casse à merveille cette compo déchirée par la venue de ce parachutiste.
Bravo, c'est superbe, l'utilsiation d'un filtre est nickel
