A place of transition, of arrival and departure--Zurich Airport. When this man was passing by the huge windows in the darkened hall, at that moment I felt this even more poignantly--just as I do these days, as a very dear friend of mine is facing difficult news...

Hi Sarolta
great picture, I like the sepia in this and windows/reflections fading into the ground are very nice, the lighting is perfect.
Great job
TFS
Rahul

So simple, so clever, so well seen, so weel composed, so well processed....The composition is perfect : the man who walks, his shade on the ground, the light,framing...
All the best
Isabela

Hi Sarolta,
I don't know if it is your note or my own mood, or if the qualities go entirely to your photo, but this is profoundly moving. Without the human presence and its shadow, it would not be the same. It would be a nice, graphical shot. The man, walking, do all the difference, giving another meaning to an already good graphical photo, as you are capable of. You froze it at the right moment, just before the man cross the line (or one of the lines). Very well done Sasa.
Claire
(Thank you for being there for your friend. It is then that we need them...)

Hi Sarolta
Just like you,I recently went through an airport, where time seems to linger, and is profitable for some soul searching.Surprising to find an almost empty place in one of these vast dormitory.
The presence of the man, going its way, dwarfed by the immensity and impersonnal coolness of those temple,is foreboding ,fit for the emotion that you are experiencing and the loneliness your friend must be feeling. These are times when you need your friend to be with you,as you are doing.
Charles

Excellent use of graphy in pfoto and excellent postprocessing(tonning). Thanks master..
have nice weekend

One of the most artistic imaginable ways to kill time at ZRH, Sasa. Great geometry with the alternating pattern of window grids and wall elements, and ideally placed walking silhouette (plus reflection) to turn a still life into a scene. Looks very good in the sepia toning. Have a nice WE.

Hi,
great, great shot, well composed and framed. Very good technically. Goes to favourits.
Regards
Piotr

Hi Sarolta,
Excellent athmosphere on your shot, this man who walls on this airport is excellent subject.
I like this light and sepia effect.
I try a WS to give an another idea.
Good WE and cheer for this one
Philippe

Hi Sarolta,

I spent sebveral hour in Zurich airport, waiting for a connection flight, but I couldn't catch this kind of image, and now I am very angry about it ;-)

Wonderful artistic sjot, minimalist and beautiful. I like it.

What a beautiful picture. It looks like something you would see- very graphic and rich. I like how tiny the man is in the midst of the huge window and the reflection that the only description I can come up with is the word 'chocolate..melted chocolate.' It reminds me very much of that. Lovely job.

Rosie

Hi Sarolta,
good image, I like your composition, also graphical effect is very strong.
Black and sepia tones affecting.
Best regards.
I make WS, hope you'll like it.
Sincerely.

Really good idea.
I love your composition.
Well done!

Hi Sarolta. What a wonderful stark, minimalist image that still manages to say so much. Excellent use of B&W, an image to aspire to. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Very elegant composition. The sepia tone takes the coldness of the airports out of the picture, just leaving the essence of the moment. Excellent capture.

Cheers,
Enrique

Talk abut 1940's, this looks like an Orson Welles screen set for Ciizen Kane. Brilliant melting of precise details to focus in on the passerby. Lve tis one.
Still remanants of rain here but it is finally (after mre than a month) coming under control...
best,
Francis

SASA,
Great shot.
Beautiful tones & faint reflections really making this shot intresting.
Impressive work.

Hi Sarolta,
This is the kind of shot I like more and more...
THe light is great, the reflexion on the ground...the huge windows and that man, crossing the area..
Wow! I wish I could make it!
Alex

Hi Sasa,
Very symbolic piece of work! The soft lines in the reflection are wonderful. I can't decdide whether the half-and-half division of the frame is the best choice; perhaps it is.
Raluca

this photo is fantastic Sasa! it does convey the poignancy of the departure, and the feelings or grieves your friend is having. I feel sorry for him too;-( i am impressed how you got this photo, or even caught this one...you have a very sharp eye for this kind of photo, and i feel so jealous;-)) it belongs to the state of the art and could challenge any grand photographer, IMO... congrats!
Eric

rare occurence for me : added as a favorite!

Hi Sasa,

Hi Sasa,
strange to think that's an airport it's so empty ! ;-)
Great compo, great light and shadows, excellent PP as usual.
I like very much the lonely person and the squares in the BG.
Maybe there is just the bottom right corner too dark and important.
Well done

Hi Sasa,
This is amazing! Great sense of 'solitude' in this dramatic scene, much like in a movie. The light is very special, soft and well balanced. Good choice of B&W. And I love the way he steps on the shadow of the window frame... Super pic.
CheukHin

You have really captured the anonymous, empty, soul deprived character of an airport waiting hall. This is another one of those pictures that I don’t want to go technical. It arises too many emotions, too many memories to left myself travel in the vicissitudes of photography. I love the shadows that cover the entire scene, the wheelchair resting in the right and the resolute man walking with both hands in his pockets. All this enhanced by your personal sepia trademark. Really poignant!

Bonsoir Sarolta,

Excellente prise de vue, qui créee une réelle atmoshère.
J'adore

I like the traveling through life idea that can be captured here.

Hi Sarolta. I find out very interesting the alternation between the dark "columns" and the lightened. The reflection on the ground and the human silhouette makes a little mysterious this space. Thanks!

Hi Sarolta.
Remembers me some Norbert's photo, but even if it wouldn't remember me, there is no doubt: a great work.
Clever and impressive.

Thanks for share.

Your state of mind is very well expressed in this darkly beautiful composition...he seems littled and lost in the repeated graphic patterns.

Always love seeing airport architecture, they have their own unique style, which seems to be consistent around the world. Here, your shot shows the greatness of the architecture against the man.

hi sasa,
excellent, no need to say much more: love it for the two things - simplicity, and YOUR sepia;
best wishes, j.

Can we rent your graphical designer's eyes just for few photo. Beautiful in its composition and colors. I like thee progressive and gradual tones from shadows to brighter light.

The silhouette in motion and captured in this graphical environment. I think I would have removed those details in the shadow (a kind of couch) to get a more 'clinical' photo ;o).

Hello Sasa,
Superbe ambiance monochromatique !
J’adore ce jeu d’ombre et de lumières !
As tu essayé un cadrage plus serré sur le type ? ? ?
Histoire que notre œil rentre directement dans le feu de l’action !
J’adore en tous cas !

just absolutely gorgeous! those lines, your conversion (that reflection!...) the compo.. gives me goosebumps! wish i had the words...

hi Sasa, very sharp, acutely and strongly enters the mind to look for similar mood.love this strong contrast and the man who's passing the dark and bright areas in turn, like we all do in life.
best regards
A.

Sarolta's soul is etched calligraphically all over Trek Earth...and in your viewers minds...

I would love to see your design work...I'm sure its even more beautiful than your photographs (if this is possible)... I wonder if you have the opportunity to pour as much of your very special soul into your professional work. I hope so, as you are clearly able to reflect your soul with style, grace and beauty...

I must say, this does not have as much visual impact for me as usual; however...it is just as poignant...

To my surprise I had not come to write something here. I saw this shot but I assumed I already critiqued it. Well, its superb. Its a fantastic example of how to merge people with great geometry. The placing and size of the person are perfectly suited to this environent. you have him in the great light, and in a great walkin position. Great shot Sasa, and I hope your friend feels better soon.

Hi Sasa - I'm not sure if your desire for symetry here hasn't overtaken a better image which lops off the right side to perhaps halfway through the dark area - I know this gets to look like a more conventional composition to the thirds rule ....but before it was a rule it was discovered because it has the wonderful effect it does on the eye - the liht qualities of this image are wonderfully captured - very nice!

best wishes Kev

Hi sarolta

Lovely compo and treatment - pure pleasure!
The guy seems lonely, almost lost, but proud... (if this makes any sense)

Hello Sasa!!!
A great exampke of how modern spaces can take someone and minimize theml to the point of taking away their humanity. Excellent photo.
Havent had much chance to look at your work or anyone elses due to work plus preparation to my trip.

Daniel

Hi Sasa, I'm surprised, I was sure that I had written something because I like this one so much, and had even read your note, but apparently something or someone else came in between, like my boss for instance ;-)
I actually do not even knowAc what to say to this image, except that it is so beautiful and well composed, beautiful reflection of the person, and some shuiny things in the dark area. Besides that, the tones are wonderful.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend, strength to both of you.

Lfe is like this, sometimes it shines and sometimes it dives you into the darkness....such a strong mood here. I like the way you have frame the scene perpendicularly to the flat wall. Superb compo as I like them .
I hope you friend will be able to overcome the difficulties.

Hi Sarolta, I missed a lot recently, and you seem to have been very effectively busy of late. Great piece of work here, nicely worked and well thought out.

Hi Sarolta, a stunning image, marvellously graphic and using the under-exposure to beautiful effect. An airport and yet the figure is so alone. Marvellous. Stephen

This one is too tremendous, i LOVE IT, this shot is amazing in terms of minimalism and best of all is the mood of it
The title is very well chosen and reinforce the mood of the picture
A MASTER PIECE

In fact this is a peculiar contrast in light and in time just as in the relative dimensions.
