Photographer’s Note
Nokogiriyama Mountain is a Buddhist place in Chiba prefecture, close to Tokyo. The main attraction of a place is two huge statues of Buddha, both at the bottom of a mountain, but on the different sides of it. You have to climb the hill and then walk down, and on your way you pass about 1500 small sculptures of Gohyaku Rakan - enlighten disciplines of Buddha. These small statues (two of them on the image) represent the entire variety of human faces' expressions.

the dof and positioning of this shot is awesome. a wonderful composition. b&w was a great choice for this. statues are simply designed but you've garnered fine detail from them. well done!

Interesting close up look at the artifacts of this area. Nice detail. The black and white works well here.

I love the b/w effect and the dof. Only, I would've really loved some explanation on what this is.
Thanks anyway Elena,

Shalom Lena!
Very nice pic, taken with care and with just the right depth of field. I am sorry to tell you that these two stone faces you chose to shoot among so many others...are NOT smiling ;o)))
Happy Hanuka and holidays!

Good focus on the front statue with the back statue slightly out of focus. I think you should have cropped a bit of the top part to focus more on the statues. There isn't anything interesting in the top part and I think it's unnecessary. Only a minor detail though, the faces are great.
