Photographer’s Note

Yunnan Province is famous for its ethnic minorities and Naxi are one of them, mainly concentrated in the Autonomous County of Lijiang.

This is a photograph of Naxi horse rider in Lijiang town during Spring Festival.

Spring Festival, Xin(new) Nian(year) or Chinese New Year is the most important festival of China. It starts with the new moon on the first day of the new year and ends on the full moon 15 days later. It is based on the Chinese lunar calander. Spring Festival is celebrated as a family affair, a time of reunion and traveling.

I took this pic on instinct, the face nd expressions fascinated me.....since it was my first time handling a camera, the pic is taken on auto mode.

Hello Sarika!

Welcome to TE! I love the photo. The focus is excellent and the expression of the old man was perfectly captured.

I made a trip to Kunming in Yunnan just over a month ago, and I simply loved the place. It was such a pity that I didn't have a chance to visit Lijiang, but I did get see a quite a lot of the minorities in their full costumes.

Well, I hope to see more postings from you soon. Once again, lovely shot! =)
