| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The Roman Forum, smack in the middle of a huge city, is a pale shadow of the former self, especially as seen from books with transparencies showing various stages of its decay that are sold in souvenir stands. Yet even at maybe 10% of its one-time grandeur, it is still very impressive, and the fact that this kind of history can be seen by Romans every day while walking to work, is staggering. |

Hi Eugene!
I can't say it's an original shot, but I like very much the b/n choice, expecially when shadows are longer and the dark surroundings exalt the white of the columns!!
Great atmosphere, congratulations!
Federico
This photo is not of a very original POV (as the one of yours from Venezia), since every publication about Rome contains this kind of the images, yet...posted here, on TE, it takes on some new dimension. It's like trying to be as good as those old masters, and I value that effort very much. Judging by your other pictures, you're conscious photographer with the full knowledge of the trade.
Therefore - here I am - scribing this critique.
The photo is an old charm, with details 'a plenty' in it, and so joyful to watch.

And you know what,Eugene..? It is not very far from those old masters' ones.
