Photographer’s Note

I loved the way this bridge reflected in the water. The reflection was so sharp! You can encounter this kind of picturesque spots many times when taking a night walk in Brugge.

It was already completely dark when I was taking this picture, and the bridge was illuminated with a strong light, so I found difficult avoiding over- or underexposition. I think this picture is the best among many I have taken in this place. I was trying to make the light of the lamp on the building a bit more subtle, as I find it a little distracting, but didn't succeed. Hope it doesn't disturb that much.

However I know it's far from perfection when it comes to the light, this amazingly pefect in its shape reflection made me want to share this image.

That's great! I seldom saw a nightshot with such an atmosphere. Incredible sharp and wonderful colours, and the object is outstanding too... I would like to have more smilies... ;-)

Very nice shot, so typical view of Brugge but I personally never get bored of it! Here it's almost perfect, very good sharpness and use of light. Great reflection too.

Prachtige weerspiegeling van deze prachtige Brugse brug. De begroeiing op de flank is ook boeiend. Ik vind de lichtbalans uitstekend voor deze moeilijke situatie.

You have an excellent night shot here! The sharpness is good. The reflections in the water are almost like a mirror. The bright lights don't distract too much wither.

another beautiful shot of nightly brugge, hanna! :-)
wonderful composition and light,
the reflections on the water are amazing,
just slightly blurred due to the 15 secs exposure time.
the photo expresses such a nice calm atmosphere and a sense
of loneliness.
the OE on the lighter parts is not so bad, and i would
not know what to do against it. i´ve tried something in
Photoshop, but that did not help too much.

Hi Hanna,
Had a bit of a look at your gallery and you have caught some interesting light in your recent images.This one is also very nice and a good result from your long exposure.I like the symetrics of the reflections and the oily texture of the water.Fellow TE colleage (John Maenhout (jhm) has an image of Belfort and Swans similar to yours.Good work and see you again.

ciekawie oswietlony obiekt, a Tobie udalo sie oddac jego charakter, jesli mialbym sie przyczepic to tylko moze nieco do kadrowania - ucialbym nieco gory, dla zniwelowania niezbyt korzystnego efektu "czarnej dziury" w prawym gornym rogu

Nice shot Hanna, I like the reflections clarity yet slight fuzziness.
The shot could do with a bit of rotation, but as it stands is very sharp and colourful.

Hi Hanna - hmm yes this is irresistable, aside from a couple of blinding lights (which I totally understand and could not have done better myself) it's outstanding, I especially like the vegetation growing on the bridge.
