Photographer’s Note
Still in that lovely "Jardin du Luxembourg, which actually is a people's photographer's heaven (in Europe, that is). So many people are gathered there, and all doing their own thing.
Apparently I was inspired by the French group of photographers, (Tom, Vero, Luko, Eric and Simon) who all are people's photographers. I managed to get quite a few portraits in a short time. Or was I inspired by that lovely lens?
Anyway, along this stretch, I found this young boy lost in his book, taking a comfortable position, and surrounded by other readers.
I love books, although ever since TE renewed my interest in photography, I definitely read less, and MY most comfortable position while reading is in bed. For hours and hours.
Libraries in the Netherlands are reasonable, mine in Rotterdam has a very large collection and is open all days of the week, (in Delft it was always closed when I wanted to go), and people under 17 have a free membership, which is quite good.
(Oh, let's say that this is my orange tribute to the Dutch team in the World Championships of football ;-))

So since you just turned 18, you can't have the free library membership anymore... Too bad! :^)
I quite like your "Paris people" series. Here, the kid looks so absorbed in his book, it's not that usual anymore to see kids reading... (OK, it's a manga album, but hey, it's a book!). Then this kid will grow up and become the man in the background, absorbed also in a book of his own...
I think I would have liked it even more if the man's head was not as hidden behind the kid, but it doesn't matter so much.
This lens suits you well!

Hola Rinie, good daily life shot, I also read less since I found TE. I rather prefer to read sit and It´s difficult for me to read while traveling, even in planes flying for hours. Thanks for this photo dear, it´s very tender.

And you had to go and make this about football ;o) I think this is a very good capture, the expression of his face is great and although his shirt says Skate Punk it also says culture, looks like a very sweet kid. You were so lucky his head is tilted that way and his knees in the frame gives us a good idea oof how comfortable he was sitting there.

hello Rinie,
I like the freckles of this kid. His mouth gives an impression us that he is curious abouth the things he is reading. his underlip has not been seen. This is the way I believe gives the impression of curiosity on his face.
