The radiating light gives the feling of hot, his slowly, tired moving/position emphasize it even more.
You could also try a B/W.

Belle vue que ce contre jour avec la silhouette de ce photographe. Les details sont bien découpé. C'est vrai que l'été n'est pas la meilleure des périodes pour aller dans cette région.

Good shadow work, and use of the light to make the shot "happen", Pierre. Wonderful glow, that sunset, eschewing the usual hues one gets for that time of the day, and introducing pastels.
