it is a pity he has got the eyes down, or he might keep them down but then a closer focus would be better. i like BW.

Some pictures says more about a place than a thousand words. This is as rural Europe as it gets. Very nice.

Lovely portrait of the traditional Irish character--he is cheerful and comfortable with himself, but he has a hard life in his past (he is missing a finger from his left hand) and present, as his hay-covered clothes attest. Also shows a bit of a devil-may-care attitude: he's smoking among haybales! Great way to capture this man in his natural habitat! :)

He seems to laugh of the risk he's taking, and probably doesn't care of what you/we may think...
A splendid portrait and a well centered and focused composition. Something which gives the taste of a place.
