Photographer’s Note
We stopped at a bedouin camp on the King's road on our way to Petra. The camp consisted in two tents where this man, his wife and their 12 children lived with their goats. The man came to talk to us while the kids played around us, afraid and yet curious to come too close. Despite their very modest lifestyle, he invited us to have a mensaf for dinner and spend the night with him and his family. Typical and very touching bedouin hospitality.

Vanesssa, the smile and the light of this man break-through the TE gallery. Good job to capture this moment of happiness in the middle of such a rough land. I think the picture would have looked much better, though, if you had positionned your subject on either side of the pic, to avoid the rather flat rendering of the subject right in the center. But, anyway, there's such a light in his eyes ... Cheers, --amz

Hi Vanessa, Nice afternoon light on the mans face, also shows him in the context of his environment, with the hills behind him and the tent included. Although the tent and livestock are a bit unclear. Perhaps it may have been better with him to the right of the tent on the left of the shot and, if possible, with a long DOF. cheers, Steve
