Photographer’s Note
I am not a geek about a great many things, and I mean no bad by using the word geek, I don't think there is a such thing as a geek, but you can be a geek about certain things in your life... Take photography ;o)
But it's not photography that I want to talk about, it's Andy Kaufman. Andy Kaufman was, possibly still is (I'm so geeky about him I believe in Elvis like theories of him hiding in the Bahamas, and not being dead :o) the worlds greatest entertainer, at least I think so. So why do I out myself as an Andy Kaufman geek, well I see no harm in having read every word ever written about him, including the stuff written by him (he was a rather questionable writer though), seen every show he ever did (on dvd, he died before I turned 4, or did he?), I out myself simple to share... Hi, my name is Line.
So anyway, this is my tribute to Andy Kaufman, dead or alive he is GREAT!
"Hey Andy, did you hear about this one? Tell me, are you locked in the punch?
Hey Andy, are you goofing on Elvis? Hey baby, are you having fun?
If you believed they put a man on the moon, man on the moon
If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool
Here's a little agit for the never-believer. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Here's a little ghost for the offering. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Here's a truck stop instead of Saint Peter's. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Mister Andy Kaufman's gone wrestling (wrestling bears). Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah"
REM "Man on the Moon"
This picture consists of two pictures of the exact same scene, but with different settings to get the moon looking good.

Very interesting
Do you mean that you took the moon with an 200 mm lens and the rest of tjhe landscape wit a wide angle ?.
It's give a nice luminosity to the foregroun.
I appreciate well
.

Nice composition of shots. The moon loks great and the colours in the sky beautiful.
Almost looks like there are spiders coming down from the right, they could be invaders ;)

Who the h*ll is Andy Kaufman?? Have I missed something? YOu certainly got an atmosphere here, kind of waiting for the warewolves to come out and eat you. Taken at 11pm. I can't help imagining that it must make a huge difference when compared to the nights you spent in central America. Has the transition been made smoothly?

Hi Line, Andy Kaufman aside, your shot is very good. The colours are superb. Personnally I would have invested some time removing the electricity wires, but that's up to you.

I'd love to learn more about how you did this technically..."two pictures of the exact same scene, but with different settings..." Oops, I just checked the workshop and answered my own question. You don't mention a tripod, which makes the image quite remarkable at 1/10th second exposure. There is an abstract quality to the image with segments of different colors, all muted as one would expect an evening photo would be. It fits with your meditation on Andy Kaufman, who, as you suggest, may even now be living in a small stone hut somewhere in those darkened trees... ;-) Andy's wacky humor is always worth appreciating. I heard a woman interviewed recently who lived with Andy. She spoke glowingly about him. I don't recall her name, but likely you know all the characters in his life. At least you're having fun! Enjoy...

Last night I wrote:"Hi Line" at this picture, and then your mail arrived, so I stopped writing and starting reading. Food for the thoughts! Thanks, I'll read it again, as I merely quickly scanned it last night. Congratulations with that nice litter of Luna. What an apt picture, BTW, a moon for her ;-)
I love this capture, Line, there's such a great atmosphere. When I first read your explanation I thought you had doen some bracketing, different exposures on the same subject, but it's more simple than that, cut and paste. The atmosphere is really beautiful. Very nice colors.
Like Gal, I never heard of Andy Kaufman, although I googled him, and he looks a LITTLE bit familiar

Hello Line,
A nice colord composition with a good exposure on moon and landscape (since you made 2).
I'm surprised the Moon is so big at 44 mm.

Hi Line, a great tribute to Andy !!
compared with the original you did a fine correction to upgrade colors and light to create more depht. I wonder, the grains are very acceptable but wondering if all grains were gone, it would give a total other feel.
A fine capture, all spot on the moon in a colorful shot.

I love this. It has a painting quality that results quite well. The colors are stunning. The violet sky against the undulating green field is really dreamful. But what strikes me most is the light in that yellow stripe. Wonderful! I don’t know why, but I like the electric lines in this scene. I guess it provides an extra graphic quality. Superb Line!

Hi Line
I have not been on TE for a while and all my pictures are now on TN. I can see that you are still doing in landscapes - and very well too. Great capture with lovely colours and the horizon made by the wires are very nice. I really like the pov.
Well done.

At first I thought, this is so stunning it looks so surreal, and then reading your note it is. Clever to think of such an easy trick. The depth of the colours are wonderful, and your geely refernce to Andy Kaufman so apt. Any moon shot has my attnetion, I have a special affinity with the moon, (no idea why:)) even my daughter is named Chandra-Devi (moon goddess)

Very cool photo, Line, and a fine tribute to your hero. This has a remarkable atmosphere, with the special low light on the gently undulating countryside and the moon ideally positioned in the frame. Nice job with the technique (or, if you prefer, "technique")on this one. Other than seeing the Jim Carrey movie, I don't know a lot about Andy K. but I thought the movie was great. So is your photo.

Interesting movie as well... I´ve always wanted to do a photo of the moon, but I did not accomplish the task till now. This photo is very inspirating Line, even using two pictures. Did you took the background from a car... I love the blur of it. Thanks.

Hello Line,
You created a very cool atmosphere here! Very very cool! The details in the moon are impressive. I like that one third of the picture is that purple-blue-pink color at the top...how to fill negative space!!:)
Well done!!

hi line
Impressive work in this one. Keeping the fine details of the landscape and at the same time have the moon with details it is not easy to achieve. Even the el.cables in there seems to fit in perfectly. A poster like impression in this very good work
